About Us
An ethical, interest-free staff cooperative promoting savings, financing and shared prosperity for the NEPZA community.
Who We Are
The NEPZA Ethical Cooperative Society Ltd (NECS) is a staff cooperative of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, established and registered under the Nigerian Cooperative Societies law. Though made up of NEPZA staff, the Society is a distinct corporate body owned by its members — both Muslim and non-Muslim — and not a subsidiary of the Authority.
We exist to promote the economic interests of our members through ethical, interest-free finance. Inspired by the principle of helping one another in virtue, righteousness and piety, the Society provides a trusted home for savings, productive financing and shared prosperity.
Our Foundation
Every activity of the Society is guided by Halal principles — that which is permitted under Islamic finance. We do not deal in interest. Instead, funds are pooled from members and put to productive use, with returns shared fairly. This ethical foundation protects members and strengthens the bond of brotherhood and self-reliance across the community.
What We Offer
- Regular, convenient monthly savings
- Interest-free (Halal) financing for productive purposes
- Essential commodities for members at flexible payment terms
- Member projects — real estate, land, SMEs and education ventures
- Target savings for Hajj, weddings and education
Governed by Our Members
The Society is run under its registered bye-laws by two bodies: the Executive Council, which manages day-to-day affairs, and the Shura Committee, which provides oversight and conducts elections. The ultimate authority rests with the members at the General Meeting. You can read more on our Governance page.
All member activity — registration, savings, financing and statements — is handled through the NECS mobile app.
