NEPZA Ethical Corporative Society Unveiled as Shura Committee Chairman Inaugurates Pioneer Executive Council
Abuja — 26 June 2026 — The NEPZA Ethical Cooperative Society Ltd (NECS) was formally unveiled today, marking a significant milestone for staff of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority as the Society moves from vision to reality.
At the unveiling, the Chairman of the Shura Committee, Mallam Hadi Yahaya, announced the pioneer Executive Council that will steer the affairs of the cooperative. The newly inaugurated executives are:
- Sani Ahmed Gwarzo — President
- Kamorudeen Ganiyu Kolawole — Vice President
- Engr. Yakubu Yunusa — Secretary
- Kabiru Yahaya Bichi — Treasurer
- Ibrahim Muhammad Musa — Financial Secretary
- Salamatu Idris Ahmed — Legal Adviser
In his address, Mallam Hadi Yahaya charged the new executives to be steadfast in running the affairs of the Society and to create a sustainable working framework that will allow the cooperative to operate effectively and serve its members well. He emphasised that the responsibility entrusted to the Council demands diligence, integrity, and a long-term commitment to the welfare of every member.
Responding on behalf of the Executive Council, the new President, Sani Ahmed Gwarzo, expressed his gratitude for the confidence reposed in the team and pledged to work hard to build a strong foundation for the association. He affirmed the Council’s commitment to advancing the Society’s vision of providing peace of mind for its members, and gave his assurance that the executives would be just to all members irrespective of their religion.
The NEPZA Ethical Cooperative Society Ltd is a staff cooperative founded on ethical, interest-free principles. Owned by its members — both Muslim and non-Muslim — the Society exists to promote the economic interests of NEPZA staff through halal savings, productive financing, and shared prosperity, strengthening the bond of cooperation and self-reliance across the community.
